Job Description:

-- Operate a commercial motor vehicle in compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) and DFA rules, regulations, and policies adhering to all safety practices-- Receive instructions via radio and perform trailer shuttling to accommodate logistical needs-- Perform daily maintenance checks of shuttle truck and report any malfunctions to the appropriate person-- Document all trailer moves into the appropriate system or daily move sheet; submit sheet to appropriate person upon the completion of the shift-- Fuel the yard truck as needed-- Couple and uncouple tractor trailer units -- Connect and disconnect brake lines as needed-- Perform safety check inspection of the trailer according to DOT regulations-- Secure all equipment and complete all necessary paperwork at the end of the shift-- Communicate effectively and maintain good relations with local staff; report any problems to the supervisor-- Attend all driver workshops and training sessions-- The requirements herein are intended to describe the general nature and level of work performed by employee, but is not a complete list of responsibilities, duties, and skills required.
