your future. Responsibilities A post-doctoral research fellow
position is available in the laboratory of Dr. Mithun Shah in the
Division of Hematology at Mayo Clinic, Rochester, Minnesota. The
lab focuses on therapeutics of myeloid leukemia, specifically
TP53-mutated myelodysplastic syndrome (AML) and acute myeloid
leukemia (AML). TP53-mutated leukemia a highly aggressive blood
cancer with no standard treatment. Our goal is to find safe and
effective treatments that can next be tested in clinical trials.
You will interact with another postdoctoral researcher and a
technician working on the same project. Requirements: Ph.D. in
biological sciences with wet laboratory experience is required. The
bulk of the work will consist of screening of compound library
against cell lines and patient samples to identify lead compounds.
Lead compounds will undergo extensive transcriptome/kinome
characterization and in vivo testing. Familiarity with standard
DNA, RNA, protein biology techniques as well as cell viability,
apoptosis, and colony forming assay is highly desirable.
Qualifications Must have a Ph.D., M.D., or equivalent doctoral
degree in a field deemed relevant by the program. Research Fellow
is appropriate for individuals who have completed no more than one
prior postdoctoral fellowship, at Mayo Clinic or elsewhere.
