Department Overview
The Occupational Therapy department evaluates and treats children
with a range of diagnoses such as autism/PDD, Down syndrome, and
feeding disorders to name a few. They also treat children who may
have difficulties with daily activities, physical development of
motor skills, and visual and perceptual abilities. They identify
and train children and caregivers in the use of adaptive equipment
to promote independence and work with a number of interdisciplinary
clinics to develop a specialized treatment plan for the child.
Position Summary
Responsible for the evaluation and provision of occupational
therapy services to children; the accompanying written
documentation and verbal communication needed to administer care
including physician orders; provides patient/family/caregivers,
staff and student training; provides a safe, clean environment;
provides proper care for departmental equipment; manages time
effectively and promotes patient/family, physician and
intradepartmental satisfaction. All of the position's duties are
performed within Children's Hospitals and Clinics Standards of
Behavior.
This is an inpatient casual position located at Children's MN -
Minneapolis, with additional opportunities available for inpatient
St. Paul and for our outpatient clinics across the Twin Cities
metro.
Qualifications
Bachelor's or Master's degree from an accredited occupational
therapy school. Minnesota state licensure and NBCOT registration.
BLS certification. Pediatric experience preferred.
