About the Job


This student position provides support to the Utility Accounting Department of University Services. The individual in this position provides accurate financials and statistical information in a timely manner for the Facilities Management Energy Systems (Energy) unit. The position gathers, organizes, analyzes, graphs and presents data regarding the University's energy generation, distribution, and consumption. Responsibilities:

Review and verify monthly utilities invoices received for payment. Identify and communicate irregularities to Utility Accountant. Initiate the payment process for utility invoices, including account coding and routing for approvals. This includes scanning, copying and filing. Enter utility consumption data into the Utility billing system. Distribute monthly energy consumption reports to colleges within the University.
Qualifications


Required Qualifications and Skills:
Must be a current undergraduate student of the University of Minnesota. Demonstrated time management and communication skills. Demonstrated ability to be reliable by completing work on schedule. Willingness to learn new software applications. Ability to work both independently without supervision and as an integral team member. Ability to produce work that is highly detailed, organized and accurate that meets deadlines and follows procedures. Excel skills, a numbers aptitude, and accurate keyboard skills
