Join our dynamic Sustaining Engineering Team at Trane and take on
the fulfilling role of a Senior Continuation Engineer . As part of
this team, you will have the opportunity to investigate and resolve
hardware and software issues reported by customers, specifically
focusing on our cutting-edge building automation systems (BAS)
controls products and tools. By utilizing your expertise, you will
directly contribute to our customers' energy efficiency efforts,
reducing their carbon footprint, and aligning with our company's

This position is eligible for a Hybrid work schedule (3 or more
days onsite a week) and will be based out of our White Bear
Lake/St. Paul, MN office.
Core Responsibilities:
Investigate UI, embedded, application software, communication and
integration problems with our System and HVAC controls products and
service tools.
Interface with technical support, embedded firmware, UI software,
integration, test, product and other teams in the US and offshore
to triage field and resolve field issues.
Connect, configure and sequence controls hardware and software to
replicate field issues and write product defects.
Provide troubleshooting directions to teams to gather required
field information.
Perform IP network and serial communication captures to analyze
issues in real-time.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to help define and deliver
technical resolutions.
Lead field issue escalation review and assignment meetings.
Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior team
members.
Participate in change control board (CCB) meetings.
Perform first article tests for manufacturing updates and document
results.
Post updated versions of newly released software and firmware to
downloads site.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, or
related degree required
Strong software and HVAC control system troubleshooting skills
preferred
Knowledge of building control systems, devices, and sensors is
preferred
Proficient knowledge of Windows desktop MS Office and with mobile
applications and operating systems
Working knowledge of computer networking
Experience in installing, wiring, and troubleshooting
microprocessor-based controls equipment is strongly desired
Experience and skill in using digital multimeters, oscilloscopes,
protocol analyzers and other test equipment desired
Knowledge of Application Security, BACnet, MODBUS and LonTalk
protocols desired
Annual Base Pay Range: $76,000 - 132,000
